CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

We are currently seeking presentation proposals for the
Engineering Exchange at OABX!

OABX will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Cherry Valley Hotel in Newark, OH. The conference features professional networking, exhibitors, and a full day of education sessions for station managers & owners, engineers & IT professionals, sales staff, and more.

We are currently seeking proposals for our engineering breakout sessions. Breakout sessions will be 45 minutes in length.

Below are topics of interest identified by our engineering committee, however, we welcome proposals for sales, leadership, or other topics that may be relevant for our attendees.

• Sports broadcasting: latest gear and trends
• Visual radio primer: webstreams, vMix / OBS, El Gato
• Audio over IP: interfacing Dante/Livewire/Wheatnet/AES67 Audio systems together
• Broadcast transmitter site safety
• HLS streaming as STL
• Cyber security: broadcast specific changes
• EAS software based system updates
• AI for broadcast: what’s available at what cost
• ATSC 3.0 updates: BPS, local market, and smaller market paths
• ATSC 3.0: Smaller markets without a lighthouse upgrade paths / Encryption updates
• Broadcast facility HVAC
• Repacking TV stations
• IT networking 101
• RF engineering: practical beyond just wave propagation

The deadline for presentation proposals is Friday, June 5. The program committee will review all proposals received and submitters will be notified of their status in late June.

As a reminder, all presentations must be educational in nature and provide attendees with focused content that can be applied in their work. Sales presentations or those promoting a specific company or product are not permitted.
